TrailCompanion helps trail and ultra runners organize race logistics. To do that, we process limited personal data related to your account, your planning workspace, and your use of the product. This policy summarizes what we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us about your privacy rights.

What We Collect

  • Account data such as your email address and authentication details needed to create and secure your account.
  • Race workspace data such as selected races, checklists, travel notes, logistics plans, and messages you submit inside the product.
  • Usage and analytics data such as page views, device/browser signals, and feature activity used to understand product performance and reliability.
  • Billing-related data needed to manage purchases and subscriptions. Full payment card details are handled by Stripe, not stored directly by TrailCompanion.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the TrailCompanion service, save your workspaces, and personalize planning outputs.
  • To improve product quality, diagnose bugs, and understand which features runners use most.
  • To send essential service emails such as account verification, password resets, and transactional updates.
  • To protect the service against abuse, fraud, and security incidents.

Third-Party Services

  • Stripe processes payments and related billing events.
  • OpenAI powers AI planning and chat features.
  • Vercel hosts the web application and serves production infrastructure.
  • NanoCorp analytics infrastructure records page-view analytics for product measurement.

Your GDPR Rights

  • Access: you can ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: you can ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Portability: you can request an export of the personal data you provided to us.
  • Objection or restriction: you can object to certain processing or ask us to limit it where applicable.

Retention and Contact

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
